Welcome to BRINDL


Welcome to the BioRepository for INvestigation of Diseases of the Lung - Extended (BRINDL)    

Begun as a repository for normal pediatric lung development, LungMAP III extended the repository to adults and to include rare diseases including bronchopulmonary dysplasia, chILD, pulmonary hypoplasia, and the more common asthma and COVID pneumonia. All tissues are consented for research and de-identified sharing of data.

BRINDL receives support from the NIH - National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) as the Human Tissue Core (U01 HL122700 and U01 HL144861) for the Lung Molecular Atlas Program

  • Access: If this is your first visit to the BRINDL Repository, please complete the "Request for BRINDL Biospecimens." You should receive instructions for establishing an Account to view the HTC Inventory and to schedule an introductory appointment with HTC Staff.

  • Inventory and Requests: Registered users, click on the "sign in" link in the upper right corner of screen and then select "HTC Inventory" from the Project window to view the specimen inventory database.

    • Explore the Donor List
    • Follow directions for completing a New Reserch Center (RC) Request. This will begin a dialogue with HTC Staff. Notifications will come to your home email Inbox from BRINDL. Click the link in the email to reply.

  • Distribution of biospecimens from BRINDL requires:
    • An executed Material Transfer Agreement and IRB Approval.
    • Donor identity is to be kept confidential, samples and clinical data deidentified.
      • Identity of Donor ID not released for any reason.
    • Investigator and associates will not make any attempt to identify or contact donors or families.
    • Raw DNA and RNA sequence data will be shared only by restricted access such that recipient also abides by the Conditions of Use. All non-identifying data may be shared in open access.
    • Recipient could be asked to destroy or return material at any time if requested.
    • Recipients shall make Legal and Safe use of the human material.
    • Recipients may not use material or its derivatives in humans.
    • Recipients will comply with LungMAP data sharing and publications policy.
      • Research abstracts, research data and methods are requested to be shared promptly in scientific forums and by inclusion in the LungMAP database and posting on LungMAP.net.
      • Acknowledgement of the LungMAP Consortium and Biorepository in Publications and Presentations. We have no expectations of authorship.

Clearing your browser's cache


At times, a member of the BRINDL support team may instruct you to clear your cache in order to see recent changes to the eCRFs. Instructions for clearing your browser cache follow:

PC users may be able to clear the cache quickly by going to the eCRF that has been updated and pressing Cntl+F5. If this doesn't work, if multiple eCRFs were updated, or if you are a Mac user, please follow the instructions for your browser, below.

 

Instructions for clearing browser cache in Firefox:

  •     At the top (upper left) of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
  •     Select the Advanced panel (far right icon).
  •     Click on the Network tab.
  •     In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

 

Instructions for clearing browser cache in Safari:

  •     Choose Safari from the menu bar, then choose Preferences.
  •     In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab.
  •     Click the button "Remove all Website Data...".
  •     Click "Remove Now" in the pop up window that appears.

 

Instructions for clearing browser cache in Google Chrome:

  •     Click on the Chrome menu (3 lines) at the right end of your menu bar.
  •     Choose More Tools and then Clear Browsing data....
  •     Check Cached Images and Files and then click on the button Clear browsing data.
